This painting is 18 x 24, on canvas. It’s going to be a spring garden scene done in acrylics and paper.
I’ve taken a photo from a calendar, coated it with lots of clear acrylic medium, let that dry, and soaked the thing until the paper peeled off. The image stuck to the acrylic, becoming transparent and flexible. I tore it into several pieces, which you can see throughout the painting – it was a spring scene in a garden with tulips and fountains.
I’ve added some scraps of handmade paper that has these great little leaves embedded in it.
This one is maybe 30% done. I have several ideas for continuing it and need to pick one and pursue it.
