Art on the Green, Hudson, OH, August 28-29

Each year, the Hudson Society of Artists hosts Art on the Green, a fine arts and crafts show. About 150 artists from around the country will be on hand. There will be lots of old favorites, and some new faces too.

I won't be displaying this year, but I will stop by to visit the booths. I always come home with something wonderful!

The show is always a good time. Admission and parking are free.

Saturday, August 28, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday, August 29, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

It's held in Hudson, OH 44236, on the south Green at Rt. 91 and Ravenna Road. (Just south of the gazebo at Rt 91 and Rt 303.)

Call for Artists: COTA Paratransit Facility Mural

Just received this call for artists. I haven't done murals, but thought I'd pass it along. From their web site:

Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) envisions a floor to ceiling mural on two walls of the Mobility Assessment Facility that portrays a downtown Columbus scene. This mural will aid in creating an environment in this facility that closely simulates what an applicant will experience in a real world environment.

The proposed work of art imagery may include or be evocative of the following:

*Columbus city-scapes
*Imagery should contain diverse populations including persons with disabilities
*Historical references to mass transit
*COTA logo

Details are on their web site:

Deadline is August 30.

Meet Me At the Market, September 11

Just got word that I've been accepted to the Handmade Market at the Wooltex Gallery on September 11!

I'm very excited! I participated in a Handmade Market last year in Chagrin Falls, and it was a wonderful experience: well run, very organized, great sales.

I'm looking forward to this one; the Wooltex Gallery is a wonderful space. Here are details:

Saturday,  September 11
10am - 6pm
The Wooltex Gallery, 1900 Superior Avenue, Cleveland, OH, 44114

This market will be part of the Sparx City Hop and will include 25 artists, both inside the Gallery and outside on the front lawn of the building. Rain or shine! Free admission and off-street parking.

Sketchbook Project

The Sketchbook Project: 2011

It's that time again. I've received my sketchbook for the next project, and it's time to get started. My theme this year is "Facing Forward", and I chose a book with a lovely red cover. It should be an interesting theme to explore.

So far, 10,000 people - yes that's right - are participating. Imagine that: 10,000 sketchbooks touring the country.

The books will go to Brooklyn, Atlanta, Chicago, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, and Portland, Maine. I'm excited about Austin - the books will be at the SXSW festival on March 12, my birthday!

There's still time to sign up and some fantastic themes still left. Check it out:

And here's a link to my entry for the last sketchbook project:
